After a 20-year process to dismantle Fort Worth's first sewage plant near Gateway Park, the City contracted with Lindamood to complete the final two phases of the cleanup effort. The former Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant site is located along the Trinity River's West Fork near a significant portion of the City's hike-and-bike trail system. Lindamood tore down the last of the wastewater plant structures and removed contaminated soil from the sludge lagoons, which were used to remove water from organic materials. Removing the contaminated soils and disposing of them at a landfill permitted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality finalized the Commission's Voluntary Cleanup Program requirements.
